Career Paths to the Teaching Professions
During my junior year, we shadowed 2nd grade teachers at Howland Glenn Elementary School. We were asked to partner up and teach a bullying lesson to the students. A peer of mine and I collaborated to create and teach the lesson and, in my opinion, it went very well. (To the left)
Above is a picture of the class that I shadowed. Being in that class, I felt very welcomed and enjoyed being there. |
During the beginning of our junior year we got partnered up and volunteered to do different bulletin boards for different classes throughout the school. To the right are a few of the bulletins I completed with my classmate. |

These are my favorite pictures ever taken during my time at The TCTC. During my junior we spent some time shadowing at the Fair Haven preschools. It was the most life changing experience I’ve ever had in a school. The teachers that I had the opportunity to shadow were absolutely amazing and made me feel as if I were one of them. The class was even better, the kids were so great to work with and even though I don’t plan on going into early childhood, this will always be an experience to remember. |
One of the guidance counselors asked the CPTP senior class to coordinate and teach a bullying lesson to the junior class at TCTC. A peer of mine and I led the lesson for two periods and the last period she had to leave so I taught a class of 95 juniors by myself. It was a great learning experience and definitely shaped me into a great public speaker. |
